ACM Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Martina McBride is bringing the holiday spirit to her fans this winter as she embarks on the first year’s run of Martina McBride’s The Joy of Christmas, an evening of holiday entertainment for the whole family.

Martina McBride’s The Joy of Christmas will be a multi-media theatrical event complete with dazzling sets, brilliant lights and impressive special effects all created especially for this one-of-a-kind stage show and starring one of music’s most spectacular voices and dynamic entertainers.

“I was inspired by the Christmas productions put on at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. We go every year and just love it,” said Martina.

The ever changing film backdrops, state of the art digital projections and set designs are only a part of the large scale theatrical experience planned. Martina has also enrolled a troupe of ten actors who play multiple roles and reenact live action scenes from bustling city streets to Santa’s workshop and even a live nativity scene. The two-hour program will also feature caroling with the children in the audience and of course, Martina McBride performing all the season’s classic songs, many of which can be found on her gold-selling 1998 release “White Christmas.”

“This show is something I’ve wanted to do for many years. Christmas is such a wonderful time and I wanted to create a memorable holiday experience for the entire family and something they can come see year after year. By developing a show that includes elements of theater, video, special effects and audience interaction, we’ll be able to take the audience through every aspect of the Christmas season in a magical, inspiring way. I’m so excited about sharing it with everyone,” exclaimed Martina.

Bud Schaetzle of SOS Multimedia is the executive producer, writer and director of the show. When asked how he felt about embarking on such an extensive endeavor for Martina, he replied, “If you’re trying to put together a ground breaking show – a truly unique touring show that has never been done before - the one thing you must have is a total world-class talent at the center of it - someone who can anchor the show. Martina would be at the top of anyone’s list. She’s the best in the business. Truthfully, when it comes to pure vocal talent and the gift to interpret song, there’s no better singer than Martina McBride.”

To round out his team, Schaetzle enrolled the assistance of consultants from Broadway’s top shows and the country’s leading theme parks and hand picked a team of professionals to helm the production including; Composer Herman Beeftink, Production Designer Ramsey Avery, Lighting Designer/ Director Craig Pierce, Producers Susan Gold and Tom Ward, Art Director Terri McKenna, Sound Designer Michael Davis of Digital Audio Post and Wardrobe Director Franne Lee.

Martina McBride’s The Joy of Christmas will kick-off on November 26th at The Spectrum in Philadelphia and continue performances through December 22nd in St. Paul, MN at the XCEL Energy Center. Stops are also scheduled for Chicago, IL, St. Charles, MO, Wichita, KS, Evansville, IN, Champaign, IL, Nashville, TN, Louisville, KY, Ft. Wayne, IN, Birmingham, AL and Milwaukee, WI with additional dates to be announced in the future.

No Camera Policy For Christmas Shows

Martina's management has announced a "NO CAMERA" policy for her upcoming Christmas show. With the special effects that will be used during the show, the flash of the cameras will interfere with them working correctly. Wehave been informed that they will be checking people as they come into the shows, any cameras that make their way in and are used may be confiscated from the user.
